Consider yourself lucky if you are reading this, you most likely not to have lived in a society with extreme judgements, sentences, and punishments. Back in the good old days if you did something wrong, for example stole a goat, chicken, Adultery, you were pretty much assured being handed a death sentence. In those days there was no hanging around on Death Row, contemplating the errors of your ways whilst waiting for some form of humane, painless death. Executions in the ancient history seems to be so barbaric and devices used were built with careful engineering to push the guilty to feel extreme and prolonged pain before death. The forms of execution listed below really are so barbaric that you might question your faith in human nature. Blowing from the gun. With the invention of the cannon came this wonderfully imaginative way of executing enemy combatants. The basic method was to tie the unfortunate victim to the barrel of a cannon and fire it. This picture made me think for a few seconds!

She is Julia Pastrana, a young woman from Mexico who is kind-hearted, but often referred to as "The Ugliest Person."
Julia was born in 1834 in the mountains of Mexico. From birth, her hair grew rapidly, covering her entire body.
No one could accept her situation because they thought that Julia was a monster or something, so she decided to run away from her residence.
While traveling as an empty soul, Julia meets a man who works at a circus and offers her a job there. Julia becomes a "Freak" who people are willing to pay money to see!
Even though it was very painful for Julia, she had no other choice but to accept the job in the circus so that she could eat and have a place to live.
And because of the show, Julia gained a lot of money and fame. Her manager, Theodore Lent, even decided to marry her!
Julia and Theodore's wedding became a viral sensation in the newspapers of the time. How could a man marry a woman who was only 135 cm tall and often called a monster?
And even more strangely, Julia gave birth to a normal baby. Unfortunately, she and the baby died simultaneously 48 hours after giving birth.
Julia's misfortunes didn't end there. After her death, the greedy Theodore decided to have her body preserved so people could pay to view the half-monkey, half-human "monster"'s remains.
Photo of Julia after being mummified.

Her body was repeatedly stolen until it was finally found in a trash can in Norway in 2005.
And finally, after 150 years, Julia was given a proper burial and buried like a human being!
That top picture is still her mummy.
This is one of the few surviving photos of her from life.

Sketches and lithographs, still influenced by the artist, show her jaws weren’t so pronounced as the taxidermy makes her seem.
