Marriage with a COR-PSE..ROTTING ALIVE..FIVE ANCIENT and MON-STROUS PLEA-SURES

Marriage with a COR-PSE..ROTTING ALIVE..FIVE ANCIENT and MON-STROUS PLEA-SURES

In some societies, it’s possible—with a few caveats. Posthumous marriage—that is, nuptials in which one or both members of the couple are dead—is an established practice in China, Japan, Sudan, France, and even the United States, among members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The procedural and legal nuances of each approach vary wildly between cultures, but here is an overview of how to tie the knot with someone who isn’t quite alive.

Although Chinese dating and marriage practices are slowly changing under the influence of technology and online dating, traditional, family-oriented values still rule. Matchmaking, via meddling parents and/or a marriage broker, is big business. To be female and unmarried at 30 is to be a “leftover woman.”

The 1978 implementation of the one-child policy has complicated the marriage market somewhat due to the societal preference for baby boys. A 2011 study found that the sex ratio among newborns rose from 105 males per 100 females in 1980 to over 120 males per 100 females during the 2000s. This skewed ratio has resulted in an overabundance of single men.

According to Chinese custom, older sons ought to marry before their younger brothers. If an older brother should die unmarried at a young age, however, there is a solution that keeps the social order intact: ghost marriage. In China, and among the Chinese in Taiwan and Singapore, ghost marriages are performed to address a variety of social and spiritual ills. Chief among these are the desire to placate the restless spirits of those who go to their grave unmarried. “Ghosts with families are liable to direct their discontent within the family circle,” writes Diana Martin in Chinese Ghost Marriage, “and it is here that ghost marriage becomes operative.”

A family whose son or daughter has died at a young age may come to believe that the deceased person is communicating a desire to be wed. This message can take the form of a spirit wreaking general havoc on the family, such as causing illnesses that do not respond to conventional treatments. A restless bachelor ghost may also express his desire to be married by appearing in a family member’s dream or while being channeled through a spirit medium during a séance.

Most ghost marriages are conducted to unite the spirits of two departed souls, rather than wedding a dead person to a living one. Though it may seem harmless to conduct a postmortem ritual designed to make two ghosts happy, the practice of matchmaking dead men with worthy ghost brides has occasionally resulted in criminal depravity. In March 2013, four men in northern China were sentenced to prison for exhuming the corpses of 10 women and selling them as ghost brides to the families of deceased, unmarried men. The women’s bodies were intended to be buried alongside the dead men, ensuring eternal companionship.

True story of teen girl praised as a 'one woman army' for killing over 100 Nazis with clever technique

Zinaida Portnova, known for having taken the lives of more than 100 Nazis by poisoning their food at just 16 years of age. She was captured by the Gestapo and while being interrogated, she disarmed the Nazi detective and shot him in the head. In her attempt to escape, she executed 2 more Nazis. The teenager managed to execute three Nazis, even after she had been captured Zinaida Portnova's story is one of particular significance, with some nowadays labelling her as a 'one woman army'. Born in Leningrad, Russia, in February 1926 - Portnova had quite the life, even though it was cut pretty short. She was a seventh-grade student at the 385th school in the Russian city in 1941, when she left for her grandmother's house in the Vitebsk region. Nazi Germany invaded the shortly after that, and an incident with Nazi troops led to Portnova despising them. German soldiers hit her grandmother while they were confiscating the cattle, leading to the girl (quite understandably) havin...

Islamic State claims mass execution of 250 Syrian soldiers The Islamic State claimed Thursday that 250 Syrian soldiers from Tabqa air base in Syrian's northeastern Raqqa Province were executed on Wednesday. DAMASCUS, Syria, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Islamic State militants claimed Thursday to have executed 250 Syrian soldiers at an airbase in Syria's northeastern Raqqa Province. The terrorist group seized control of Tabqa air base on Sunday from forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad. At least 250 Syrian soldiers were reportedly executed on Wednesday, IS claimed on one of its official websites. Video footage purportedly of the soldiers shows large groups of men forced to jog in their underwear and later images of numerous corpses in similar undress lying side by side in a desert area. According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 200 Syrian soldiers and 346 IS fighters were killed in Sunday's battle for control of the air base. Thanks for reading

Marched to their deaths.

Marched to their deaths: Sickening ISIS slaughter continues as 250 soldiers captured at Syrian airbase are stripped then led to the desert for mass execution  Sickening footage appears to show Islamic State militants parading around 250 captured soldiers through the desert in their underwear before they are killed and their bodies piled on the bare earth. An Islamic State fighter claimed the men were from the Syrian government's Tabqa air base which extremists seized on Sunday, potentially handing them warplanes, tanks, artillery and ammunition. The video, which has not been independently verified, is too graphic to be published in full. It begins by showing dozens of men being marched through the desert wearing only their underwear. It then fades to black, resuming with a pile of bloodied bodies stacked on top of one another. As the horrific footage progresses it pans slowly across a vast line of men who appear to be dead, and whose bodies have been laid out one by one. The line f...

"Sims acquired a total of eleven women slaves with vesicovaginal fistula from their masters by promising to lodge, board, and treat them, and he built a spartan wooden building, where he conducted surgical experiments on them for the next four years. During the Victorian period, layers of dress signaled sexual chastity, and doctors were not in the habit of viewing women's unclothed bodies; not even their professional stature gave them license to gaze at women's genitalia. When Sims undertook his fistula experiments, even the term 'gynecology' was a few years in the future. Instead, 'women's doctors' averted their eyes in a chivalrous fashion as they knelt to tend to the modestly clothed ladies of their class, relying upon their sense of touch beneath voluminous Victorian skirts. However, Sims, working with enslaved blacks, was constrained by no such delicacy. He made the women undress completely, then kneel on hands and knees while he and several physi...

ISIS executes man with bazooka.

Horrific video has emerged online showing ISIS savages purportedly executing a young man with a bazooka. The footage was posted Thursday by a Syrian activist group, Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently. The clip, which is about 2½ minutes long, shows the prisoner exploding in a ball of flames as his Islamic State executioners blast their guns in the air and cheer in celebration. The man is said to be Ibrahim Shraideh, a member of the Al Shaitat tribe from the town of Abu Hamam in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province.  He was captured and killed on charges of waging war against ISIS, according to the activist group. The bloodthirsty jihadis who put Shraideh to death are said to be from Tunisia and Morocco. The execution video is believed to have been shot Wednesday, the group said. When the clip begins, things appear calm as one of the ISIS militants chit-chats with Shraideh. Suddenly, the long-haired radical leans down, picks up a rocket-propelled grenade and begins angrily ranting. Moments...

Discovered by chance 94 years on: Bodies of 21 German soldiers in perfectly-preserved First World War trenches

Discovered by chance 94 years on: Bodies of 21 German soldiers in perfectly-preserved First World War trenches Stunned workers were meant to be digging a new road but journeyed instead into a dim and grim past They were meant to be digging a new road but journeyed instead into a dim and grim past. Stunned workers stumbled upon an underground shelter – and inside were the bodies of 21 German soldiers killed in the First World War. Many were found in the position they died when an Allied shell hit their tunnel and caused it to cave in 94 years ago. A large number of personal possessions – preserved by the lack of air and light – were also found in the 300ft tunnel near the small town of Carspach in the Alsace region of France. Michael Landolt, the archaeologist leading the dig, said: “Everything collapsed in seconds and is just the way it was at the time. Here, as in Pompeii, we found the bodies as they were at the moment of their death. “Some of the men were found in sitting positions o...

"Mary the Elephant's Heart-Wrenching Execution: A Homeless Man, A Circus Tragedy, and a Town's Fury in 1916"

On September 11, 1916, a homeless man named Red Eldridge was hired as an assistant elephant trainer by the Sparks World Famous Shows circus. His only job role was knowing how to use an elephant stick (literally a sharp spear). The day after he was hired, the circus announced a show in the town of Kingsport , Tennessee , featuring an elephant parade.Tragedy occurred when Mary the Elephant went on a rampage: while she was nibbling on a watermelon rind, Eldridge tried to keep her in line by prodding her behind the ear with a hook. Onlookers - stunned and helpless - watched as she grabbed Eldridge with her trunk, threw him against a drinks stand and stomped on his head, crushing it.Within minutes, the local blacksmith who thought she had gone mad shot her 5 bullets, but to no effect. Some spectators then began to chant: " Kill the elephant! Let's kill him ." Meanwhile, the mayors of several nearby towns threatened not to allow the circus to visit if Mary attended the show. So...

The photo below shows Italian General Alexandro Luzano standing above a slaughtered Serbian child in front of a school in Prebilovci.

I have never read anything more horrific than this. 😭 The photo below shows Italian General Alexandro Luzano standing above a slaughtered Serbian child in front of a school in Prebilovci. The letter he sent to Mussolini after this crime has been preserved in the military archives: "Dear Duce, My boundless devotion to you, I hope, entitles me to deviate in some way from strict military protocol. That is why I hasten to describe to you an event that I personally attended three weeks ago. While visiting the districts of Stolac, Capljina and Ljubinje (between 60 and 130 km north of Dubrovnik) - I learned from our intelligence officers that Pavelic's Ustashas had committed a crime in a village (Prebilovci) the day before, and that when it became known , the surrounding Serbs to be upset again. I miss the words to describe what I found there. In the big school classroom, I found a slaughtered teacher and 120 of her students! No children were older than 12! Crime is an inappropriat...
