Consider yourself lucky if you are reading this, you most likely not to have lived in a society with extreme judgements, sentences, and punishments. Back in the good old days if you did something wrong, for example stole a goat, chicken, Adultery, you were pretty much assured being handed a death sentence. In those days there was no hanging around on Death Row, contemplating the errors of your ways whilst waiting for some form of humane, painless death. In 2018, a taxi driver named Prabhu Bhatara halted his vehicle during a trip and walked up to a sloth bear to take a selfie with the animal.
In 2018, a taxi driver named Prabhu Bhatara halted his  vehicle during a trip and walked up to a sloth bear to take a selfie with the animal. Sadly, he slipped and the bear started to act aggressively towards him.


This video captures the bear and man grappling just before the situation turned fatal.

Forestry officials were summoned, but by the time they arrived, Bhatara was already deceased. The bear had to be tranquilized so that Bhatara's mangled body could be recovered.

The incident took place in the Nabarangpur district of Odisha in India. Bhatara had stopped to relieve himself on his way home from a wedding when he spotted the injured animal.

Despite warnings from his fellow SUV passengers, Bhatara approached the bear. A struggle ensued, and a stray dog even stepped in, biting the bear in an attempt to deter the larger animal. Unfortunately, the dog’s intervention was not enough to save Bhatara

THE HEROIC DEATH OF HAROLD JOSEPH MATHEWS, JR. HE WAS HONORED. On this day lost, but never forgotten... Harold Joseph Mathews, Jr. was born on January 23, 1947, to Harold and Margaret Mathews. His grew up in Butler, NJ with his brother, John. He graduated from Butler High School in 1964. Harold enjoyed riding motorcycles, on and off road. He also held a job at a paint store. Harold served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). Prior to being sent to Vietnam, he completed additional training at the Defense Language Institute in California. He was assigned to Delta Company 1st Battalion 5th Marines 1st Division. Mathews was killed in action on September 11, 1968. He is buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery on Germantown Road in West Milford, NJ. He was survived by his parents, brother and wife, Barbara. Mathews received numerous awards and medals. Some of these include the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Medal and the Purple Heart. Related A
