A five year old girl has been found dead hanging onto a tree in her neighbours yard in Kitwe. Circumstances around her death remain unclear.



BELOW IS THE FULL STATEMENT FROM POLICE.

Suspected Suicide ,occurred on 26/08/22 around 14.00hrs at Hse No. H468. In which F/ Elizabeth Mwape aged 27 of Hse No. H461, Chamboli T/ship, Kitwe, V/ Kapaya, C/ Tungati D/ Luwingu reported that her daughter F/J/ Miriam Mugala aged 5 of the same address was found dead hanging onto a tree within her neighbour's yard.

Brief facts are that the reporter had left home around 11.00hrs to the market leaving her two children ( deceased and her older brother aged 8 playing within the neighborhood with other children. Shockingly, when she came back ,she was informed of a painful death of her daughter. Police were informed of the the same and immediately visited the crime Scene, they found the deceased still hanging on a tree of about a meter from the ground using a Chitenge material. Meanwhile the other children who were playing with the deceased stated that they were swinging and that she was alone on a swing However the circumstances surrounding her sudden death are still not clear as some of the children who are mentioned to have been playing with the deceased have not yet been interviewed. Inquiry file opened, More to follow, its like she was just killed.
